Description

Koga Miyata Gent’s Racer Decal Set – Frame Sticker Kit (1977)

The Gent’s Racer was Koga-Miyata’s answer to riders who wanted the marque’s road pedigree without the touring bulk — stripped of mudguard mounts and a rear carrier, built onto 28-inch wheels instead of the touring range’s 27-inch setup, and coming in 1.6kg lighter as a result. This set reproduces the full factory decal sheet from that 1977 model year, including the individually spelled seat tube lettering most reproduction sheets leave out entirely. If you’re restoring an original Gent’s Racer frame, this is exactly what left the factory on it.

What’s included

Koga-Miyata down tube logos (x2), Gent’s-Racer model script decals (x2), Miyata head badge medallion, Miyata Industry Co. Ltd. lifetime guarantee winged shield badge, “Built with High-Tensile 1024 Butted Tubes – Complete Frame” tube badge, High-Tensile Complete Fork 1024 badges (x2), individual seat tube lettering spelling out MIYATA in full sets on each side (12 pieces total), and a cyan pinstripe accent strip.

Materials & specs

High-grade self-adhesive vinyl, UV-resistant and waterproof

Die-cut by plotter for precision fitment

Stretchable material — conforms to tube shapes without creasing

Transfer layer included for clean, bubble-free application

Repositionable within the first few seconds after application — take your time to align before pressing firmly

Long-term adhesion is strong but decals can be removed cleanly with heat (heat gun or hairdryer) without damaging paint

Installation

Clean all surfaces thoroughly before applying. Remove any old decals completely — never layer over existing stickers as it affects adhesion and final appearance. Allow freshly painted or lacquered surfaces to cure for a minimum of 3 weeks before applying.

Built for restoration, not just decoration

Koga-Miyata’s racing pedigree would mature a few years later with Peter Winnen’s Alpe d’Huez stage win, but the Gent’s Racer already carried the brand’s road-focused DNA in 1977 — lighter, faster, and stripped for purpose. Every logo, badge, and lettering set here is positioned to match the original factory sheet. Get this on the frame and it reads exactly as it did rolling out of the Koga-Miyata works.
