Description

Koga Miyata Gent’s Touring Decal Set – Frame Sticker Kit (1978)

By 1978 the Gent’s Touring picked up the same gold script identity as the rest of that year’s lineup, built onto the same Hi-Manga special steel double-butted tubing — but kept its own role as the lineup’s distance bike, with mudguard and rear carrier fittings the Racer and Luxe went without. This set reproduces the complete 1978 factory decal sheet, gold-on-black script and all, including the mirrored down tube pairs most reproductions get wrong. If you’re restoring an original 1978 Gent’s Touring frame, this is exactly what left the factory on it.

What’s included

Koga-Miyata script down tube decals (x2, mirrored pair), Miyata script decals (x2, mirrored pair), Gent’s-Touring script decals in two sizes (x4 total), Miyata hexagonal head badge, Miyata Industry Co. Ltd. lifetime guarantee badge, High-Tensile Complete Fork 1024 badges (x2), “Built with High-Tensile 1024 Butted Tubes – Complete Frame” badge, Hi-Manga Special Steel Manganese Complete Fork badges (x2), Hi-Manga Special Steel Manganese Double Butted Tube badge, Miyata Industry Co. Ltd. “Since 1880” pinstriped side decals (x2), and gold-and-black pinstripe accent strips (x3).

Materials & specs

High-grade self-adhesive vinyl, UV-resistant and waterproof

Die-cut by plotter for precision fitment

Stretchable material — conforms to tube shapes without creasing

Transfer layer included for clean, bubble-free application

Repositionable within the first few seconds after application — take your time to align before pressing firmly

Long-term adhesion is strong but decals can be removed cleanly with heat (heat gun or hairdryer) without damaging paint

Installation

Clean all surfaces thoroughly before applying. Remove any old decals completely — never layer over existing stickers as it affects adhesion and final appearance. Allow freshly painted or lacquered surfaces to cure for a minimum of 3 weeks before applying.

Built for restoration, not just decoration

The 1978 refresh brought the Gent’s Touring the same gold script identity and Hi-Manga steel badging as its Racer and Luxe siblings, while keeping the practical fittings that made it the distance model of the range. Every logo, badge, and pinstripe here is placed to match the original factory sheet, mirrored pairs included. Get this on the frame and it reads exactly as it did rolling out of the Koga-Miyata works in 1978.
