Description
Koga Miyata Road-Speed Decal Set – Frame Sticker Kit (1980)
The 1980 Road-Speed carried the same tubeset upgrade seen across that year’s range — a Tange Champion double-butted main frame paired with a Miyata Hi-Manga fork, a step up from the straight Hi-Manga build used in 1978. This set reproduces the complete 1980 factory decal sheet, gold script and all, including the mirrored down tube pairs most reproductions get wrong. If you’re restoring an original 1980 Road-Speed frame, this is exactly what left the factory on it.
What’s included
Miyata script decals (x2), Koga-Miyata script down tube decals (x2), Road Speed model script decals (x2), Miyata Industry Co. Ltd. lifetime guarantee badge, Koga Miyata round “Handmade” gear badge, Miyata Industry Co. Ltd. pinstriped side decals (x2), Miyata Hi-Manga Special Steel Manganese Complete Fork badges (x2), and Tange Champion Chrome Molybdenum Double-Butted Tube badge.
Materials & specs
High-grade self-adhesive vinyl, UV-resistant and waterproof
Die-cut by plotter for precision fitment
Stretchable material — conforms to tube shapes without creasing
Transfer layer included for clean, bubble-free application
Repositionable within the first few seconds after application — take your time to align before pressing firmly
Long-term adhesion is strong but decals can be removed cleanly with heat (heat gun or hairdryer) without damaging paint
Installation
Clean all surfaces thoroughly before applying. Remove any old decals completely — never layer over existing stickers as it affects adhesion and final appearance. Allow freshly painted or lacquered surfaces to cure for a minimum of 3 weeks before applying.
Built for restoration, not just decoration
The Road-Speed’s 1980 Tange Champion frame badge marks a real spec change from its 1978 predecessor, and matching that badge set correctly is what separates an accurate restoration from a close guess. Every logo, badge, and pinstripe here is placed to match the original factory sheet, mirrored pairs included. Get this on the frame and it reads exactly as it did rolling out of the Koga-Miyata works in 1980.
